John L. Young grew up in Altoona , PA and has a degree in Journalism from Empire State College. He is a former reporter and columnist for the Jamestown , NY Post-Journal. He is a contributing writer for Pennsylvania Magazine and Ohio Magazine and his travel articles have appeared in Pursuits, a publication of the Pennsylvania Tourism Office. His books include Unemployed No More, a self-help book that grew out of his own search for a more satisfying occupation; the outdoor guide Hike Pennsylvania; and Murder at the Airport Inn, the true story of a 1936 murder-for-hire. He lives on three acres just outside Russell , PA with his wife Debra, an elementary school principal, and has a 23-year-old son, Aaron. His hobbies include hiking and outdoor photography.

Lyle James Slack grew up in Warren , PA and received an M.A. in political science from Allegheny College and a
B.A. in English from Bloomsburg University . He spent 10 years as a reporter for the Hamilton , Ontario Spectator before turning to freelance writing and authoring numerous articles for most of the national magazines in Canada . In 1986 he began writing for television, scripting episodes of various series for CBS, Fox, the Disney Channel and the USA Network. In 1993 he moved to Los Angeles to write and produce television movies. His full-length TV dramas include, for NBC, The Sleepwalker Killing starring Oscar-winner Hilary Swank; and for CBS Another Woman, based on a popular Harlequin novel. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife Jane, a print production manager, and their seven-year-old daughter, Brett.
